118 High Street
History
Formerly No. 110, prior to 1891
No110 High Street (now 118) back in 1865 was James Sterry Fishmonger's shop
By 1932 the building was taken over by the British and Argentine Meat Company which later became Dewhurst's and continued at this address well into the 1960's.
During the 1960's the shop was E. J.P. Sound Systems Ltd run by E. J. Pike who specialized in public address systems, Televisions and Radios, Engineers and Dealers but by 1983 Bure Electrical had taken over the shop.

You can see in the 2nd picture that Kerigien charity shop was at No118 in 1998 but in 2000 it was Rococo Beauty Salon and in 2016 Scamps Barber Shop.
My brother Richard found an old photo of 118 High Street where my Grandad, pictured wearing a striped apron, was manager of the butchers shop.For some reason I always remember we had very good Sunday roast’s when we visited my Grandparents, Herbert Moore and Fossbrook Moore. CREDIT:David Moore

My Grandad , HH Moore, was…
My Grandad , HH Moore, was the store manager of the butchers in the 1950s before it went to a radio and tv repair shop now a hairdressers. My Grandparents lived above the shop.
