Shed Patio is born!
North Lowestoft Men's Shed (aka NLMS) continues to consolidate its base. In this case, building a patio.
Using gravel-mesh as the patio base our next step is to spread gravel over it all. This will create a solid and secure surface on which to put our donated garden and chair set to catch the last of the summer sun.
We've also been donated high-quality kitchen cupboards by Lowestoft Tile Company in Wilde Street. A piece of work-surface has been attached to a metal table frame found abandoned in the High Street to create a work table.
We have a flag, too.
Three members trundled over to Eye to attend the Suffolk ShedFest, organised by Community Action Suffolk. There were lots of shed people, many, like us, relatively new to the projects.
We were very enthused by Tools With a Mission (TWAM). TWAM collects shed-type tools, refurbishes them, and makes them into complete, if basic kits. They're usually electricians and carpenters sets. These are then given to individuals who commit to training in their desired trade, and enables them to become employed and support their partners and children. They work in the five poorest central Africa nations. It's all done by word of mouth, and because the receivers have to fully commit, it has a very high success rate in carrying out its objectives.

North Lowestoft Men's Shed is aiming to become a donation point for unwanted tools. We'll be updating info on this soon.
We need another shed!
Our Shed is becoming something of a shed, which makes cramming members in difficult. So we're actively looking for an additional shed, big enough to store garden implements and the like. Ideally a steel lockable shed, but we're interested in anything that might do the job.
