56 57 High Street
History
No57 started out its life as two shops with one being No56, in 1865 Arthur Stebbings ran a stationers and printers at 56 and Stephen James Rudram ran his Tailors at 57. By 1900 the shop has just become No57 and Dotesio and Todd had taken over the printing business from where they published their Lowestoft Visitor guide books. By 1932 M. F. Robinson and Co had taken over the printing business but by the 1950's Percy Wigg had taken over the shop and was using it as Pickfords Removal and Storage. In the 1960's the shop had become Margarets of Lowestoft, complete childrens and baby outfitters but by the end of the 60's it had become The Leisure Hour, wool shop.
