TetraPaks

We took two Builder's Bags full of flattened TetraPaks to Lowestoft Rcycling Centre in Haddenham Road on Easter Bank Holiday Monday. It was cold and drizzly.

The Centre was a bit taken aback by the quantity, and the source of the TetraPaks.

Because of this we will have to investigate, and to this end have asked the Environment Agency for advice.

TetraPaks cannot be put into your blue bin, they should go in your black bin. BUT there is a recycling container for them at Lowestoft Recycling Centre in Haddenham Road in south Lowestoft. Use It All will continue to collect them while we resolve ultimate disposal of them.

We are not sure what the site does with them - they either go to Ace, the only TetraPak recycler in England, or abroad.

According to the notice at the exit of the Recycling Centre '65%' of waste was recycled last week, but quite what this means we're not sure.
