The Tramway Hotel in full view - a typical building of its kind from around 1900 and one which marks the southerly terminating point of the former Lowestoft tramway system.

The Methodist Church, or Chapel, at Corton was built in 1873 and opened the following year

This circular brick enclosure, which stands at the junction of Pound Lane with Church Road, was built for the temporary accommodation of stray animals found on the loose

Samuel Peto built the railway connecting Lowestoft to the rest of the railway system, thus fulfilling his promise that

"fish landed in the early catches would get through to Manchester in time for high tea".

Lowestoft Hospital

The hospital opened in 1882 and closed down completely in 2016, having originally been built on an undeveloped site between Tennyson Road and Alexandra Road to replace the Infirmary of 1839

The railway swing bridge crossing Lake Lothing, at the western end of this stretch of water, carrying a small section of the track running between Lowestoft and Ipswich and allowing shipping to pass
